Woo hoo! That's so fantastic! That would have been hard after a 30-year relationship even without the sleeve. Good for you!

I notice that I'm a lot more playful with my husband than I used to be. Sometimes I call him over to see how my new lingerie fits when I know perfectly well it fits just fine :P

So is this someone there could be something more with potentially?

Well, after 3 years on my own following the break up of a 30 year relationship, at the weekend I finally got naked with someone I have lusted after for years.... He didn't run away screaming at my wrinkly, saggy bits. I took my clothes off - ALL OF THEM!!!! And the world didn't end, he didn't laugh and I didn't die of embarrassment. Something for me to add to my list when people ask how my sleeve has changed my life - I can do naked :-))))))) Sorry if is is tmi, but I actually never thought at 52 that I could throw my clothes off with such abandon and without stressing -oh how I love my sleeve!

BEST. THREAD. EVER. Now that's what I'm talking about! The practical applications of the benefits of weight loss!

Indigo.... happy to hear it. Just another part of life that we all have to deal with and while I had not read about that on the boards, it was crossing my mind. LOL Good luck to you.

Thank you all - if I can't share this with you, who understand the whole weight loss/self doubt thing, who can I tell it to???

Gamergirl, I just don't know if this has long term potential or if he is Mr Right - but he's Mr Right Now!

The whole naked thing has been preying on my mind. Apart from the general effects of age on my bod, losing 82lbs leaves its mark. Had also lost so much confidence post-husband, was beginning to think I would be single and never have sex ever again... :-0

Now I know anything is possible and I can actually feel my self confidence has soared. Won't be rushing out to test this new power to get naked with anyone else any time soon - but this is a giant step forward in my new life

Ha ha ha! I am in Scotland, trust me, there will be no need for an APB today, if I stripped the cold would just make me look even more wrinkly ;-)

But it is such a liberating feeling to no longer fear something that should be pretty natural.... feels like I put down another burden that has been holding me back...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
