RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted December 17, 2013 Thank you all - if I can't share this with you, who understand the whole weight loss/self doubt thing, who can I tell it to??? Gamergirl, I just don't know if this has long term potential or if he is Mr Right - but he's Mr Right Now! The whole naked thing has been preying on my mind. Apart from the general effects of age on my bod, losing 82lbs leaves its mark. Had also lost so much confidence post-husband, was beginning to think I would be single and never have sex ever again... :-0 Now I know anything is possible and I can actually feel my self confidence has soared. Won't be rushing out to test this new power to get naked with anyone else any time soon - but this is a giant step forward in my new life i will never understand why some of us let the good things go in our lives...if you are 1/2 the person I know on here by your posts...He was really dumb to let you go girl...His loss...another's gain... Just don't go for the same kind...You can fall into that trap so easily.... oops....motherly advice here....Mind your own business Rj 1 Indigo1991 reacted to this
Indigo1991 1,612 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) RJ, no please don't mind your own business, I am genuinely grateful for the advice and support - and thank you for the kind words, which mean a lot. As a keeper of secrets who is trying to be more open, I haven't told many people that my husband cheated on me for years, no-one would believe me. But it rocked me to the core, adding to my eating problems big time. Being fat gave me the excuse that that was why he went elsewhere. But with a clearer brain and feeling more confident, I know that's not the case. So it's taken me until now - and with the help of my sleeve - to find myself again, the girl who 30 years ago would have stripped naked to a band playing, lol. And I won't go for the same kind. I have known this lovely man for 40 years, man and boy, and he adored me fat and thin. Might not be anything long lasting but he will never know the significance of the weekend or the importance of letting me move on.. Fluffnomore 1,235 Posted December 17, 2013 I love this story, Indigo. It is sweet that you have had a mutual adoration society in place for so long, whether it is a long-lasting relationship now or not. 1 Indigo1991 reacted to this

CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted December 17, 2013 Well, I have shared some of this before, but my partner of 15 years pretty much lost interest in me about 6 -7 years ago. I thought it was the weight, but it didn't get better with weight loss. In fact, the indifference to my weight loss journey was pretty hurtful actually. Long painful story but i decided to end things since I could no longer live in a loveless relationship. We are still good friends, but we lived like roommates for a very long time and so I guess it was a pretty low drama breakup. Well, I did start seeing someone earlier this year and it has been a big confidence booster. It is not a simple story I guess but bottom line, he has helped me see my own beauty, both external, but also me as a person. We are not meant to be together forever, but he was totally the right person for me at the moment and made that aspect of my life fun again. Hard to describe, but i think being morbidly obese, one of the things I "lost" was feeling like a woman, not even a beautiful woman, but a woman at all and I have regained that. Now, as far as looks, he always told me I look like a million bucks and now that I had the skin removal - a billion. ha He was the one that told me over and over again that I am attractive and have a lot to offer to anyone so to never sell myself short. I think I am finally starting to believe it. even before plastics, I developed alot of confidence in my body and I think it helped alot with going through the changes that came after plastic surgery. It feels good to like your body - it feels good to walk in a room and feel good about how you look (I am talking clothes on here...haha) 9 Fluffnomore, LindaS, gamergirl and 6 others reacted to this
Indigo1991 1,612 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) CGJ, I love your story and can relate to it so closely. You may not be meant to be with this man forever, but look at the gifts he's given you. People are in our lives for a reason or a season or for life... He's your man for this moment. You put your finger right on it when you said you lost feeling like a woman. I feel like I just got that feeling back... and it is so exciting!!!! Madam Reverie 2,958 Posted December 17, 2013 This has made my heart all warm and fuzzy. I don't do warm and fuzzy. Indigo - I'm elated for you. Truly... Now, lady, are you going to be at the Murrayfield meeting at the end of this month? I think we should have wine! xx 2 Indigo1991 and ReDbEaN reacted to this

Madam Reverie 2,958 Posted December 17, 2013 Will do, chickadee! The meeting would have to be on the 23rd - if its going to happen at all. Don't know how people will respond to it, being that its so close to Christmas. I'll give L a buzz and ask. Now, time to amplify the warm and fuzzy with a glass of wine x 1 Indigo1991 reacted to this
