Oxford Exclusive Plan/Freedom Network

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have United Healthcare Oxford Exclusive Plan/ Freedom Network. My paper work said Bariatric Surgery is covered with Limitation of Benefits.

Would anyone know what they mean by Limation of Benefits. I have emailed the insurance company because I cannot view my Certificate of Coverage online, I get a error message saying not not available try again later. I live in NY.

Thank you in advance!

It usually means something like they only pay for one bariatric surgery in your lifetime, or there is a separate dollar max, something like that. But only they can tell you for sure. I would try calling them rather than emailing, I find my insurance responds super slowly (if ever) to email. Good luck!

Thank you Bufflehead! I called my insurance company and they really don't like to give you too much information. It was like pulling teeth to get a round a bout answer. I am covered and she said my doctor would explain better my benefit of limitations. I asked her does it mean I have to meet certain criteria and she finally said yes and I may to have to have certain test done, I gues the normal procedure for Bariatric Surgery. This is hopeful! I certainly meet the BMI requirement!
