islandgal65 36 Posted December 16, 2013 Hi, I have United Healthcare Oxford Exclusive Plan/ Freedom Network. My paper work said Bariatric Surgery is covered with Limitation of Benefits. Would anyone know what they mean by Limation of Benefits. I have emailed the insurance company because I cannot view my Certificate of Coverage online, I get a error message saying not not available try again later. I live in NY. Thank you in advance! Bufflehead 6,358 Posted December 16, 2013 It usually means something like they only pay for one bariatric surgery in your lifetime, or there is a separate dollar max, something like that. But only they can tell you for sure. I would try calling them rather than emailing, I find my insurance responds super slowly (if ever) to email. Good luck! islandgal65 36 Posted December 16, 2013 Thank you Bufflehead! I called my insurance company and they really don't like to give you too much information. It was like pulling teeth to get a round a bout answer. I am covered and she said my doctor would explain better my benefit of limitations. I asked her does it mean I have to meet certain criteria and she finally said yes and I may to have to have certain test done, I gues the normal procedure for Bariatric Surgery. This is hopeful! I certainly meet the BMI requirement!
