Fort Worth Buddies?

Recommended Posts

I also found out that since my BMI is 42, I will more than likely only have to have a 1 week preop diet. I will have to purchase the shakes. 1 weeks worth is $75.

We will probably be sleeved around the same time! Melissa told me last week that March surgeries are already booked, so I will be April. The cardiac clearance was not bad at all. I'm so excited for us!

How are you my Fort Worth buddies? I hardly get on here, but belong to the December group on Facebook. I try to come on here a few times a month. I do get the daily digest emails, so if there is a post here - I at least am able to read them.

I have been working out - basically walking but about mid April started doing classes - Love the variety! I have done Zumba Tone, Zumba Step, Zumba Fitness, Kickboxing /Turbo Jam, Pilates and Yoga. Most of those were at the Watauga Rec Center and starting back up at 24hour yesterday and did the Zumba Step - loved it. I am trying either TurboKick or Bodypump tomorrow and Insanity on Sunday Morning, If anyone is interested in meeting up I go to the one on Western Center - Just let me know!

Hope everyone is doing fabulous!!!

Hello! I'm a Fort Worth girl. It's great to see so many of us here. :)

I was banded in 2006 by Dr. Smith. I've been on and off the "band wagon" so many times I can't count. Right now I am 40 pounds heavier than I was on the day of my surgery and I'm miserable. I've been totally unfilled for about a year because i just got so frustrated with my band, but I'm going back in tomorrow for a fill and am going to restart my journey. I've been doing a lot of research on this forum to try to remember how it was in the beginning - how to eat, what to eat, etc.

I appreciate having so many great folks to commiserate with, lean on, cheer for and get advice from.

Good luck and stay strong!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
