Hi all,

I am 3 days post op, surgery was Monday. Do you think low fat sherbert or sugarfree sherbert would be ok? Popcicles are just not doing it anymore.... My husband brought home some Blue Bell Low fat Raspberry and Strawbery sherbert. I has a couple spoonfulls and it was heaven. Not sure if I should continue having a small portion every now and then or not....what are your thoughts veterans ;)

By the way, I am on full liquids only.

My first thought is…. ALL that sugar. I don't think the sherbet will hurt you as far as being on full liquids, but I don't think leaning on something "ice cream" like is the best choice. If your doctor allows it at your stage, how about some nonfat or low fat yogurt?

Sorbets/Sherbets were on my full liquid "menu". I had some often during that timeframe.

i used to freeze my lean and fit greek yogurt. i liked the cold. like with everything. if it fits into your calorie count for the day. enjoy. just be sure to count it. and as a newbie think Protein first, and ice cream does have Protein. :P

Yogurt is not part of a clear liquid diet. But, check with your surgeon's office, sherbert might be. Best wishes, it is worth a try. I lived on the sugar free popcicles the 1st couple weeks after surgery! kll724

I would say yes if you can get it sugar free because its very high in sugar and sugar turns to fat just sayin

I'm on full liquids, not clear to clarify :) I wish I liked yogurt, I just can't handle it :( Cold just feels so nice and I wanted a little something different. ... boo

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
