I had my surgery done by Dr. Ortiz on Friday. He did an amazing job. I've had no problems at all. I will be going back there for any cosmetic surgery I may have in the future and would recommend them to anyone

My experience was very close to Bob's.  I agree with Ms.AntiBand.  Usually when someone  posts about this kind of unfounded facts, they have an agenda.

I'm having a hard time drinking an entire Protein Shake at one sitting.  After talking to the aftercare coordinator she told me that I'm having too much at once.  Gee, I didn't realize that I over eat!  lol!  I guess that's what got me into this predicament in the first place!  She said to make 1/2 a shake at first.  Having a much better time with that!

I had surgery in March of 2013 in MX. I used Alighterme. My dr was Dr. Alejandro Ortiz. He was very good. my recovery at Mi Dr. Is comparable if not better than what I received at Hackensack Hospital in ?NJ. Do your research and trust yourself. Anyone can make claims of anything good or bad. My Dr. In NJ was negligent in taking time to remove my lap band even though I was in obvious pain in the ER where he saw me but bc if was his sabbath had refuse go do my operation until Monday. Trust yourself to make your decision. BTW....if Abraham the driver for Alighterme us still with them you are in excellent hands. He was great and his service was impeccable?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
