slw260 23 Posted December 11, 2013 I was told not to drink fluids 30 minutes before meals and 1 hour after meals. From what I have read on this site, everybody else seems to have been told 30 minutes before meals and 30 minutes after meals. What did your surgeon tell you? Am I the only one who was told 1 hour after meals?
Beachmamaof4 4 Posted December 11, 2013 I was told the same as you. I will wait at least 30 min. There have been occasions where I will drink sooner than 60 min. after a meal. It's hard to fit everything in. Ha ha! Hence, why I haven't been on here much (or at all) since the surgery....any free time is spent eating, tracking food or working out. LOL. Hope everyone is doing well! 1 slw260 reacted to this
Seela 1,187 Posted December 11, 2013 Thank God I was only told 30 minutes. It's hard enough to get all my fluids in as it is! ! 1 slw260 reacted to this
gomekast 559 Posted December 19, 2013 Thank God I was only told 30 minutes. It's hard enough to get all my fluids in as it is! ! That's exactly my issue. I forget to resume drinking again and before I know it the day is gone and I've only had 12 oz total. Need a way to get all my fluids in..
Cindy vsg 7 Posted December 23, 2013 I was told 30/30, but was battling hunger, so I experimented a bit and am doing 10/50 and the hunger issue is much better. I first tried 30/60, but also had the problem of not enough drinking time.
cindymg 629 Posted December 23, 2013 That's exactly my issue. I forget to resume drinking again and before I know it the day is gone and I've only had 12 oz total. Need a way to get all my fluids in.. Set your alarm on your phone to 30 mins after eating. I just have to remember that it's two glasses in the morning, 3 in the afternoon, then 2 in the evening. If I forget, I look at my hands. My fingers get all pruny when dehydration sets in. You can do this!
Cindy vsg 7 Posted December 23, 2013 I set alarms on my phone too. Otherwise I'll get distracted and drink too soon or forget all together.
