I can't do beef anymore :( and after surgery I really don't do any type of meat well. It is strange because I can't do beef well but when I have corned beef I have no problem !! but steak, chicken, pork etc. all do not sit well with me. I have tried the ground chicken and I can eat that is small amounts but it has to be very moist. I am 20 months post op.

chicken is tough for me too unless it is chicken salad - like through the food processor. Otherwise I really have to eat it as soon as it is cooked and still hot. If it sits a bit or gets put in the fridge - FORGET it! Crab has been my favorite thing. Too bad it is so expensive and hard to get fresh. But when I am on the gulf - I am all about it.

I haven't tried it yet as today wss my first day on semi-solid food, but I had an appt with my nutritionist today that set up a full menu for me. She suggested that I marinate my pork and chicken breasts in orange juice, papaya or pineapple juice overnight to keep it moist for eating after cooked. Hoping you can try it and see if it works! Good luck

I could not eat chicken for the first 6 months post op. It made me sick just looking smelling or tasting it. Terrible food aversion. Now it is fine. Have not got anything stuck since I tried broccoli once and decided never again. It has been 14 months since my surgery and am able to eat just about anything, just not a lot.

TMI... Things that are stuck I've been able to get back out by massaging and pressing gently on my pouch.

I have to lay down. I learned i actually have gotten worse about my chewing the further out I've gotten. Mainly because it's life as usual now and I tend to talk and laugh and entertain while I'm eating :) not always a great idea if you get carried away enough to be distracted to not chew as good.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
