I was banded on 10/2/13. Have lost maybe 25 lbs. Had 1 fill on 11/7. Think I should have lost more weight. I can eat anything. Nothing bothers me. Is this normal? 2nd fill is on 12/16. Thanks

3500 calories is a pound (ate or drank)

are you taking in more calories than you burn off?

and just because you can eat more than you should (or was recommended) doesnt mean you should.....

congrats on 25 pounds lost.....try picking up 5 bags of sugar and tote that around all day and see how it feels...sounds like you are doing well...losing is based on a person on many different things...who can say....only you know if you eat more cals than you need to or if you exercise...

The average weight loss with the band is 1-2 pounds per week. You've lost about 5 pounds per week.

You didn't gain the weight overnight and it won't come off overnight, either. It takes time and patience.

Details, details, details. Every time you put something in your mouth, put it down on paper, or in the computer. Measure everything, KNOW what you are doing, don't guess.

My motto through this whole thing has been slow and steady wins the race! I am not showing any HUGE numbers on the scale each month, but I have lost 6 dress sizes and I know for SURE that I will never see those number again except maybe on my winning lotto ticket!

I was banded this year in early August. I had my fourth fill last week - the last three have been 0.5 cc's. I can eat just about anything in moderation by eating slowly and thoroughly chewing. I was 276 two weeks pre-op when I started by 2 week liquid Proteins and am now down to 216. I have had no "stuck" or "sliming" episodes.

As stated, you're are doing great. Stop looking at the scales, exercise and keep a good food diary. You'll get there. My surgeon wouldn't give me a fill the first few months because I was losing adequately.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
