Nausea After 2 Months

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on October 16th. For the past week, I have been very nauseous at night, after eating dinner. I have been figuring out what foods I can and cannot eat, and I am careful with my diet. Eating slowly is more difficult than not drinking while eating but I am trying. Yet, I still get nauseous and have even vomited after eating dinner. For Breakfast, I have a Protein Shake. lunch and snack is usually Peanut Butter crackers, yogurt, cheese, whole grain toast, etc. Dinner is when I eat "real" meals....cooked food in small amounts. Is anyone else experiencing this? I am so frustrated with the pain or nausea I feel when I eat. I am starting to dread food.

My surgery was Sept 27 and up until this week I have been nauseated almost every meal.

One things that caused mine is that I was not eating slow enough.

There is an app called "Eat Slower", this has helped me a lot. You don't realize how fast you are eating....

Are you eating your Protein first? That is important....Then you should fill up on low starch veggies and then have very little carb.

You should introduce one new food at a time and see how you handle it....See if that helps...if not, I would talk to your Dr. or NUT and see what they say.

Thank you so much. I got the app. I know I eat too fast at times. I was also having a hard time figuring out which foods were causing me problems. I will follow your advice and see how it goes. If I am still having problems, I will contact my Dr. My NUT quit the week before my surgery so I don't have someone to turn to with food questions.

I've also had nausea since week 3, at the same time i started missing the protonilx. Dr said drink regular Gatorade, juice and ginger ale. I got better til week 6, nausea returned. I woke up with it and it would get better during the day. Started back the protonix and so far no more nausea, been about 5 days. Nausea is common, and an acid reducer can help.

I was considering taking the prevacid again. But right now, the timer seems to be helping. And I haven't woke up nauseous in a couple of weeks. Something I definitely will try if it happens again. I really miss ginger ale. Do you drink it flat? My doctor said absolutely nothing carbonated.

I know how you feel I am nearly 7weeks out and been nauseous for a week if I eat or not, even having trouble with Water. I take anti reflux pills but is not helping. Couldn't get an app with the surgeon till next week, so went to my GP today he gave me anti nausea meds. I have not lost any weight this week either. Not hungry at all and don't care. (Well I do care). Hopefully the surgeon has some answers cause not loving myself right now.

My doctor said that Water is the worst beverage when nauseaus, it can make you nauseaus, then milk closely follows. The nurse told me to let it sit for awhile, but I had to get fluids in or I was going to end up dehydrated and in the hospital. I probably drink a cup a day. I still have my own rule about no carbonated beverages, except diet ginger ale... if I'm nauseas. The NUT and doctor both say it nausea is common for the first couple of months.

I had regular random nausea for about a month ( started around week 3). Water was the worst--no one told me that water was particularly hard! I discovered I could drink warm things (hot choc SF, apple cider SF) easier. Generally, the doc said it just happens like that some times, so I just kept saying it would pass, and one day a out week 6, it did! Hope that happens for you soon.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
