5 Months Post Op

Recommended Posts

Curious to know what your weightloss is 5 months post op... is it the same as it was when you were just weeks out? Do you find yourself having to exercise more frequently? Do you have more stalls? Any info is great. Just curious..

I haven't experienced stalls that I'm aware of but I don't weigh myself often. I judge my weight loss by the way my clothes fit. My doctor says my average weight loss per week is 2-3 pounds. In almost seven months I've lost 93 pounds. I was hoping to hit 100 by Christmas but I had my gallbladder out a few days ago and I'm still retaining IV fluids. I gained six pounds the day of surgery and I'm bloated and swollen.

Everyone is different. Age, weight, health, and even gender can affect how you lose weight. You can't estimate or compare your loss to another's. There is no formula that says you'll lose this much by this date, and so on. Follow your program, focus on your personal successes, and you will get there.

I am five months post op and have lost 92 lbs. I have lost 13 inches in my bust. 14 inches in my waist and 12 inches in my hips. I only weigh and measure myself on the second of each month, the date of my surgery.

Sometimes I get discouraged when I read posts about others who have lost more and have had their surgery around the same time that I did but as so many have said everyone is different. Try not to compare yourself and be proud of your own accomplishments !

Always feeling dissatisfied because we perceive someone else as doing better will make you very unhappy! Men lose faster (more muscle mass), people who have a lot to love usually lose faster initially, and there are other factors, too. Severe nausea, complications, activity levels, general health, medical conditions, - there are many variables. We need to focus on our own successes. And we need to Celebrate and take pleasure in our own successes. It's not easy to change your whole lifestyle and follow the rules we need to follow to do well. Sometimes we feel sick as we learn what to eat - that's not easy either! It's important to recognize your hard work and enjoy your own results. Be proud! Be happy! Reward yourself!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
