How Much Did You Lose 3 Months Out?

Recommended Posts

I'm just over 2 months out. Surgery weight was 229 and now I'm 202, so 27 lbs, which seems pretty slow to me.

My Dr gave me permission about 10 days ago to eat very low carb (under 30g) and I've lost 3 lbs since then. I'm hoping low carb helps me lose a bit faster. Either way, I feel better and don't have hunger or cravings so I'm sticking to it :)

Apparently, I am as well.

I track everything and exercise an hour 6 days a week. Get my Water and Protein in. Oh well. I'm doing everything right and will continue to do so. Maybe our reward will be firm skin :)

I like the firm skin theory! Sometimes I am glad that it is slow because then I don't have people asking me questions constantly. If I dropped 60lbs in a matter of weeks, I would be fielding lots of questions!

Do either if you have insulin resistance or pcos? Hormone issues can make things slower ( at least in regular dieting).

Also could it be a function of the starting weight? I mean it makes since that a heavier person could lose more faster?

Either way, from where I'm sitting 30 lbs in 3 months is fantastic! Well done to you both!

I just looked back at my logs of when I lost the most. About 800 calories a day. I'm gonna try 800. I haven't been getting that many daily

I have PCOS, insulin resistance, and hypothyroidism. I'm surprised that I am losing so fast (64 lbs. in 3 months - I was 263 the day of surgery) because I have never lost weight this fast before. It was hard for me to lose any weight regardless of how much exercise I did or how good my diet was. While I keep my carbs low, 20-30 grams per day, I don't necessarily pay attention to my fat intake. I eat full fat cottage cheese and other cheeses, butter/margarine (when I do eat it) and full fat Peanut Butter. I do measure everything I eat, though, and include it all in my food tracker.

My skin is not too bad. My stomach and arms have some lose skin, and I'm sure it will get worse as I go along, but so far it's really not that bad. I do know I will have to have some plastics eventually.

Everyone is different and some of us just lose slower than others. It's not because you are doing anything wrong. As long as you stick to your eating protocol, the weight is sure to come off. Good luck, girls!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
