I want to get healthy to live longer to be here for my grandchildren. Have a grand daughter who adores me and at 12 she already has an obesity problem. I hope to be a good example for her.

Well I have to say its sunny and warm here in Florida but my inspiration every day is that face in the mirror. I have to live to be a ripe old age I have more people to aggravate. Hugs girls.

I need to envision I am there in sunny Florida! It is cold and wet and miserable here in NY this Monday. Hard to motivate or find inspiration to do much of anything.

I did muster up some get up and go and got up and went to the gym today for a 30 minute walk. I have my 25th high school reunion coming up in April and I would love to be able to say I look the same! (OK only 25 years older :)

I want to continue to get stronger and healthier, as I still have 20 lbs to go, and I want to try cross country skiing or snow shoeing this Jan, and maybe get back to horseback riding too. So exercising, eating right ( most of the time ) getting the scale to go below 160 and keep moving down is my motivation right now. I keep bouncing btwn 160 and 158 !! But I' ll get to 140 some day !

Buried in snow here on Long Island today, well OK not buried but we are going to have 2-4 inches of it. I made my way to the office before the snow this morning and now thinking that maybe I should leave around 2 and make that long journey home! I have the feeling it's going to take me a least an 2 hours or more!

I am going to hit the gym before I go though, and while the rest of the office eats pizza and Cosi for lunch, I"m going to get my grilled chicken onions, peppers and small salad and stay on track this snowy Tuesday!

attachicon.gif: This is what I have done is 16 months. I want to see what else I can do

Yes, indeed! You look great. I also want to see what else I can do -- live life and have fun, explore new things and be out there -- if we can achieve this kind of success we can do anything. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks, Lisa -- I have been thinking about this for a couple do days:

Be able to do yoga comfortably, increased flexibility and less joint pain, enjoy serious gardening again, able to get up and down off the ground or floor easily, take a dance class, get in a kayak, hike our local mountain, Skype without dread, get family pictures taken that have me in them, too, wear fun clothes instead of just finding a uniform that fits, be strong and self-confident, not hanging back and shy, embarrassed. Own who I am and throw my shoulders back, be in the world and comfortable there, happy and at peace. Be able to inspire other people, have a better income, achieve financial goals and professional success. Go biking along the Danube and do a barge cruise in Europe when I can handle the boat myself, heave bikes on and off, and undo the locks on the canals. Walk my way around new places because I love walking and want to exercise.

I want to let my adventurous side escape and go hiking and exploring the places I visit without being winded or tired. I also want to be able to shop at any store that the name doesn't precede "plus size fashion". I'm 27 and I don't want to be 30 and still fat!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
