10 Week Course For Mastering Your Lap Band W/dr. Terry Simpson

Recommended Posts

Heck no I would never spend 300 dollars on an online course. You don't know if he is a real doctor or not. I would just talk to your surgical team, nutritionist and take there advise.

just come here. most of your questions are answered here. take the advice or take the questions to your own doctor. you always want to follow your own doctor. my doctor has a online video to watch and it's free. perhaps yours does too

Why do people make this out to be more difficult than it actually is????

My Dr. had a 10 week course (actually a little longer).....starting from the day of surgery....it was regular office visits 4 weeks apart for weigh ins, some Q&A, perhaps a fill.....

He made it perfectly clear, having that Yellow-Green-Red Chart on the wall, that that was exactly where he wanted me to be....through a series of visits and fills......

First phase - pre surgery, then then actual day of surgery

2nd Phase....series of office visits and adjustments to get the band properly working as it is designed to do....

3rd Phase.....go live your new life to it's fullest...

B-52,

I wish I could say I had the support you seem to have. I was banded in Mexico back before it was readily available in the U.S. I sometimes wish I would have waited a few years and had it done locally but I didn't.

Sounds like there are a lot of new things they are doing to help patience with their weight loss. Yellow-green-red chart on wall, sounds interesting, and a 10 week course would be nice.

I did find a local Dr. To do my fills, she only does fills and is a Family Practitioner not a surgeon. It has been over three and a half years since I last saw her. I just called today and set up a fill date for Dec. 19th, excited but nervous too.

I'm hoping to get to the third phase you mentioned above.

Wish me luck!!

Hi there, I think this is the Dr. Simpson who wrote an excellent piece that a few people here have links to in their signatures -- The LapBand Is Not About Restriction. I've gotten a lot out of that article and I'll bet there's lots of free Simpson stuff on-line.

I believe this was the physician that was found to be partially negligent in a law suit involving a death of a woman following weight loss surgery. The jury awarded her husband 1.38 million dollars if the information is correct.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
