I Finally Got To Dress Up For Christmas!

Beautiful dress! Life is so much easier when you don't have such a small selection from the "plus" size section. Glad you got to have a different experience this time!

How far post-op are you? I am only at 5 days post-op so still pretty lousy feeling and only down 5 lbs since surgery. But I also started at 285, weighed 272 for surgery, and was 267 this morning. I wear a size 22 and can't wait to be a 16. You look great!!

Thanks again! I was at 252 on my surgery date, had lost 22 pounds while filling insurance requirements and another 11pounds in preop. My surgery was 6 months ago in June. Yes those first few weeks, even up to two months, were tough, but well worth it, just keep pushing through!

Wow! Beautiful dress! I've recently started wearing dresses. They always looked so awkward on me (bigger on top, smaller on bottom). I bought 3 in the last month. Now if I only had somewhere to wear em...

Thanks. It was a little weird buying a dress I'll probably never wear again since I still have more to lose but its nice to know dresses are an option! Hope you find some great reasons to wear the new dresses!

I had to join this site, just to tell you congratulations. I understand so deeply it brought a tear to my eye.

I had to attend an advertising award ceremony once, which required a dress. I wore mine embarrassed, knowing I wasn't fooling anyone. It was like lipstick on a pig. At 250, I didnt blend in with the 110 ladies and their equally svelt dates.

My husband I went on a small trip alone together, so I shopped for some lengerie. Quickly I decided there was no point.

Its these moments that hurt so deeply. Its why I've decided to consider wls.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
