You should never have trouble keeping things down unless you didn't chew right, eat too fast or take too big a bite. Are these the reasons why you're having issues? And water should never ever give you trouble.

3 1/2 months post op....band with plication...feeling great--so happy with my decision!

Visited the doc for my monthly follow up today and lost 10 lbs this month... have lost a total of 65 lbs so far.

I am amazed and feel so good about myself....first time I can say that in a VERY long time!!

I haven't needed a fill as of yet and I'm guessing that is due to the plication. The thought of a fill kind of scares me to be honest....read so much on here about people being too tight. So I will happily stay without any fills right now and when/if the day comes I will embrace it and be smart about it...and reach out to so many great people here who have had a positive experience with fills.

I'm enjoying eating all foods and I like that Im not feeling deprived. No more diet mentality here...just better choices and trying to eat smarter.

Thanks to all the great and supportive people here who have helped me along the way...I appreciate and thank all of you!

My 1 yr bandiversry will be in 5 days. Down 60 pounds, went from 46" waist to a 36". More active than ever and feel great. I wish I had the surgery years ago, but to tell you the truth I wasn't ready for it mentally. According to the charts I have 40 more pounds to lose, my goal for 2014 is 20 of it. No longer in a hurry, simply enjoying life.

I was banded for four years and then revised to the sleeve. I loved my band the first two years, but then had problems. I had it slip several times, my port flipped twice, I had erosion and even with an empty band, I couldn't keep anything but ice cream down. So, I had to revise to something that worked better with my body.

Susan may I ask what you revised to and how it is working? I'm curious to see how it is compared to the band. My band slipped and I'm having surgery for the sleeve on the 4th of February. I'm used to the band now and I'm wondering which you opted for and if you are having success or any regrets. Thanks!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
