Mrs D 0 Posted March 15, 2007 Hi there, Well i am just waiting for the phone call from the hospitol to advice me when i can go in and have my band removed. More problems now through. My port has slipped and I have Cellulitis. The mrsa seems to be collecting under the skin and an abcess is forming and it will burst very soon.So watch this space. I no things could be a lot worst but there again they could be better. The consultant has said that if the mrsa clears up I could consider another band in aprox 3 months but i may not be able to have one if there is to much damage to my stomach. I really do not want the Byepass. Thanks for reading, keep smileing.Mrs D

RKidder 0 Posted March 15, 2007 MRSA (Methacillin Resistant Staph Aureus) - fancy name for a very reisistant strain of Staph infection. As a nurse, we have patients in the hospital with this type of infection from time to time. Best of luck in your efforts to get better. You will be in my prayers. ms_efflorescent 0 Posted March 17, 2007 My band has been off for about a month now. It is scary being without but it is good to be living without the problems that it caused. Best of luck to you with your removal.
NataliesMommy 1 Posted April 10, 2007 Wow, my heart goes out to you. My daughter, husband, and myself were struck w/ MRSA, and I know how painful and scary it is. It was an epidemic in our community.
