lorienickole3 1 Posted January 20, 2014 Awesome I'm so excited! I don't have any balances to pay. Which is good! I'm nervous they will deny me. Cause I'm not losing a lot of weight like people normally do before the surgery.. I would not be concerned at not losing much weight before, just do not gain weight. I know this sounds funny, but if you are losing weight before surgery, remember, our insurance, as far as i know, will deny if your BMI goes below 40. I am sure you will be fine. I am three weeks post op with the sleeve (wanted the gastric bypass) and I am now down almost 19 lbs. I want it to happen overnight. It won't. Don't worry!!!! danika1118 6 Posted January 21, 2014 Good point!! How come you didn't get the whole gastric bypass? That's what I'm going for. And yeah I'm not trying to gain that's for sure! 20 pounds is good for one week! 1 lorienickole3 reacted to this

lorienickole3 1 Posted January 22, 2014 For 3 weeks that's good! I have had MULTIPLE abdominal surgeries in the past. I have had at least six laproscopic surgeries for uterine issues (sorry about spelling) and I have had four major abdominal surgeries, each time I was opened from hip to hip. The last time I had to have surgery, they could not do with scope so I had to be opened vertically. The scar tissue from these prior surgeries is severe. Not to be gross, but to do the bypass, he had to free up at least five feet of intestine. My intestines are totally encased in scar tissue and he could not even get to them. He said that they are like a bowl of spaghetti encased with so much scar tissue that it would not have been safe to even try. I think he is amazing because when he went to do the sleeve, my stomach was also surrounded by severe scar tissue. He managed to get through that and complete the sleeve. I think most surgeons would have took one look at my insides and closed me up. lol I think you are in incredible hands. You are a beautiful young woman and I think you will do amazing. Keep up the hard work, it will be worth it in the end. You feel free to email me anytime. I think you have my email. Please keep me up to date. Do you have a surgery date yet? YOU ARE GOING TO DO AMAZING!

lorienickole3 1 Posted January 24, 2014 Hey there! Akron here! Had it at summa! Not the best experience there to be honest. The program was amazing but not happy with my surgeons bedside manner at all but I have lost weight so that's a plus! I have had very many surgeries. It is awful when you have a surgeon that has the personality of a pencil. I think in general, surgeons don't have a great bedside manner. I was fortunate with Dr. Hassan, he was caring and listened. I know in the past I have had surgeons with the "God" complex. They were arrogant and treated me like I was an idiot. I believe most of us, know our bodies and know when something is wrong. I'm sorry that your experience was not great. I'm glad that the program was amazing! Your weight loss is wonderful!
AK1515 0 Posted April 22, 2014 I love the program and the dietitians and staff! Everyone is so nice there... Unfortunately I had a few unpleasant experiences. But I can honestly say the program as a whole sets you up for success! Who was your surgeon? I was wondering who was your surgeon?
