So I am 2 months post op and went in for my first fill yesterday only to find my port has flipped :( has anyone had this happen to them? I'm having the correction surgery done Monday morning and my doctor is going to put 2 ccs in at that time. I know if can happen but I was so excited to get my fill.

My port is tipped, but surgeon was able to get to it, anyway. i don't really get fills at this time after 4 years. Best wishes for your surgery. Karen

Hi there, sorry for this setback -- great you will get the correction so soon, and a fill at that. And now the port will be just right for future fills. I have read about this happening to others. Keep us posted on your recovery, now you're feeling post fill, etc. I just got my first one and going back next week. We are going to rock our bands!

Well you can bet that your surgeon is going to place that port in just the right spot so it won't happen again. and you will have a fill all at the same time. good luck and best for your surgery.

Sorry to hear that! I had to have my port replaced after 4 months, due to a really bad kink in the tubing. It sucked, but all is well now! Happy to hear all went well with your surgery, and you're back on your journey.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
