farmgirl04 231 Posted December 7, 2013 Hi everyone, now that I am on the recuperative end of my Tummy Tuck I am trying to get an idea of how to eat till I can start exercising again. I'm drinking a lot of broth and lemon tea, but don't want to go too heavy on the meat end since I won't be burning many calories right away. I certainly don't want to come out of this weighing more than I did going in! How did all of you handle it? Ann
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted December 7, 2013 Honestly, I just stayed in my normal daily calorie range, 1000-1200 calories a day. I still lost weight while healing, too. Staying away from meat is actually a bad idea because when healing from major surgery, you need that Protein more than ever. Most doctors actually want you to increase Protein for healing. Just track your calories and get lots of protein and you'll be fine
farmgirl04 231 Posted December 7, 2013 Thanks! I can't wait to start moving around more! 1 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted December 7, 2013 If you want to heal you need to eat Protein. You are setting yourself up for a nice infection if you don't put nourishment in your body. Eat it wont hurt you.
farmgirl04 231 Posted December 7, 2013 My concern is that I know how much to eat given regular activity. If I were to eat the same amount while lying around I'm sure I'll stretch my pouch and start gaining. Boredom has always been my enemy so I'm trying to be proactive and plan ahead. I'm sure as I feel better and start doing more things (knitting) it won't be as big an issue.
