Thank you all I just have to monitor my eating. I only have a one week liquid diet and I find myself wanting to eat everything I know I won't be able to eat after surgery. I could do some real damage between now and 1/29.

This is very common I think most of us went thru this...the last couple weeks before my pre op I ate hat I wanted but still tried to keep it in check..I gained 4 lbs lol but lost 12 on pre op

So treat yourself in moderation and enjoy your holiday!

Congrats on your date. I started my pre-op diet the day before Thanksgiving, I ate a small meal and limited my carb intake on Thanksgiving. A month prior to my pre-op diet I started cutting back on my caloric intake. This has helped me a lot with my pre-op diet of 2 shakes and 6oz of lean Protein and a cup of veggies. I do not feel hungry between meals. So far I have lost 15 pounds on my pre-op diet with 4 days to go. Your surgery date will be here before you know it.

Congrats on your date! Mine is january13th!! It does feel like time is moving so slow now that I have a date..it's still 37days away. I have two whole weeks of pre op diet. I have 23days till that's starts.

Congrats, can I say the pre op diet was a bit difficult but made it, 11 pounds down before surgery. I had surgery 5 days ago and feeling pretty good but for some strange reason I can't keep the shakes down.

Congrats! When did your journey begin?

Thank you- I began in October. My Nut insisted on 3 visits- only one seemed necessary and useful, the other visits she seemed out of things to talk about Insurance only requited one

This was a post from a different forum that might help since the Protein goals aren't so lofty right away...

The general rule when you are a newbie is 30 grams of Protein in 30 days, 60 in 60 days, ans 90 by 80 days out. Your most important thing right now is to stay hydrated. Sip Water all day long, even when you don't want too. Sip, sip and sip some more. I got dehydrated very fast and felt awful. Anything sugar free counts, even broth.

When dealing with the 'Last Supper Syndrome' keep in mind that any weight you gain before has to come off after. It could be discouraging to have to lose 10+ pounds post-op while you regain lost ground. Also, I found that those last meals weren't as satisfying as I expected them to be. I did indulge on old favorites once or twice a week (I didn't 'gorge' myself) but balanced it out by eating better at my other meals. It helped keep things in check while savoring goodies I might not have for a long time, if ever. The mindset for losing really must start pre-op. So indulge, without getting out of control. In the long run it's worth it to deprive yourself of foods that are not good for you. As someone has said 'Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels'. I'm finding that it's a true statement. :-)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
