Surgery Was On December 03, 2013...

Recommended Posts

Surgery went well and i actually felt like i didn't have any procedure done that's how good i felt. I actually compiled on leaving because i was so nervous. I am home now and walking around. I met a couple of girls there and we called each other sleeve sisters. We walked to each other rooms and talked and laughed like old friends. We we're only there for two days but the nurses new if they couldn't find one of us in the room to check one of the other two rooms. We talked about our past, shared pictues, experiences and goals. Best experience.

Great to hear this! I ran into a guy who had the surgery the same day however with a different surgeon. He was struggling with pain management (he was a bypass) but it was nice to share experiences.

My 1st post-op day wasn't pleasant but I'm feeling great post-op day 3! Looking forward to having something other than shakes! Tomorrow I'm pulling out the instant oatmeal!!

Keep pushing on sleevers!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
