SeaSounders♥ 225 Posted December 5, 2013 That sounds like the gas they use you have to walk walk walk flap your arms like a crazy chicken and I also used the dissolvable gas X strips... 3 catfish87, Milliekay193 and lapbandchic73 reacted to this
Irishflower79 183 Posted December 5, 2013 Definitely sounds like gas! I had the same thing. Walking an the gas x strips helped a lot. A lot of people say to use a heating pad (I didn't have one to use) I had a sore neck and jaw figured it was from the Anesthesiologist. 2 Milliekay193 and SeaSounders♥ reacted to this
SeaSounders♥ 225 Posted December 5, 2013 I didn't get neck pain but continue taking your pain meds by day 4 I felt normal. The recliner and lots of bed pillows should help also! Good Luck!! 1 Milliekay193 reacted to this
terrydumont46 1,954 Posted December 5, 2013 the neck and shoulder pain can also come because of a position they may had to put your head and neck in to intubate you. take your pain medication as ordered. warm fluids may help. and walking. 2 Milliekay193 and Irishflower79 reacted to this

Bandista 7,466 Posted December 5, 2013 Hi there and congratulations on being banded! Many of us know the dreaded shoulder pain -- sometimes it takes a day or two to set in but when it's there, oh boy. Walk it off! Get yourself up and moving and move your arms, too. You will be feeling so much better in a day or two. I did liquid Tylenol and Ibuprofen as needed and I needed it less and less -- stayed away from the prescription narcotics which, for me, come with their own side effects that I didn't want to have to deal with. The great thing about the walking is that once you've taken those twenty steps back and forth, then thirty, forty -- it's amazing. It's like in a week you are suddenly a full-fledged walker. That was a goal for me, to actually like exercising. It happened, and I am so happy about that. And a month out and today my first fill, I am so incredibly happy to be banded. You have made an amazing decision for your healthy future and your happiness -- great things ahead! Best wishes to you for a speedy recovery! 2 blueturtle and Milliekay193 reacted to this

The Icy One 518 Posted December 5, 2013 My heating pad was huge for me for shoulder pain. It really knocked it down and kept me more comfortable. liquid Motrin also helped. I didn't use the prescribed pain killer. Didn't need it but liquid children's Motrin (just double the dose) worked nicely to knock down the shoulder owies. 2 Milliekay193 and Sharpie reacted to this
Milliekay193 21 Posted December 7, 2013 Thanks Bandsters! I'm feeling much better now. Actually the more I move the better I feel. The gas is starting to subside and the soreness is decreasing. 1 MandyrHart! reacted to this

Gardnergirl2 96 Posted December 10, 2013 hopefully so. First couple of days I thought.....what have I done????? of course, all I wanted to do was sleep (still loopy from anesthesia). If you don't feel better by day four, I would call your doc. Also, walk....walk....around the house....every hour if you can
