Shelly2221 126 Posted December 4, 2013 Hey Everyone. I have my lap band surgery set for January 22. I have all my checks set up for this month so hopefully all will go smooth and Jan 22 will be the day my life is forever changed. I'll be 29 in January and am so ready for this. I have struggled with my weight my WHOLE life. I remember being on diets starting at age 6. Ive also struggled with an eating disorder for 11 years. It's been a constant battle. I don't want food to control my life anymore. I want to be healthy and happy for my husband and two children. I know that this next chapter won't be easy and I welcome the challenge with open arms. I'm looking for people to go through this journey with. Whose with me???

monymo 2813 66 Posted December 4, 2013 Hi, My surgery was in 2002 on January 22nd. It was the best decision I made. I wish you the best of luck in your journey. Mona
garfield461 25 Posted December 4, 2013 I was banded in August of 2007 and never regretted it. It does require a new way of thinking but if you are mentally ready to accept the change you will do great. For me there was always one more diet to try which always failed at some point. Now I am diabetes free, no more joint pain when walking and not embarassed about my appearance. I wish you well.
