Cloths, Style, Hair, Foundations....

The The Edwardian ball is really all over the place costume wise... I know I was more Victorian, but really, not even that... Its more like whatever you like, there were Batmen, Aliens from the 50s, and lots and lots of Fantasy, Steam Punk, Gothic and a few pure souls who were spot on edwardian... really, even during the Edwardian time, there were some major style changes... from the Florodora/Gibson Girl look, to the more sleek man tailoring looks leading up to Coco Chanel.

Wanda. I wish I could say I have not arm flaps, but I had to pose this pretty well... arms down and covering the back overflow as well... I wore a flimsey blouse over the top to soften things up a bit... and it was pretty dark at the event... great mood lighting most places...

oh, and the hair, I started that morning, spraying and ratting, I wore it up to the city to check out the vendors early, then when we went back to the hotel, I took it down, started over sectioning and ratting, and rolling it up to get the volume, then adding the fake"snood" at the back, the black flowers and the little black facinator tophat with feathers and hatpin... then, I hot curled the side curls. Spray, makeup and jewelry... then "lets get the hell out of here cuz we are late!" It took about 3 hours to dress and do hair both. Hair alone was about 45 minutes, my friend and I discussed how your really needed a "dresser" to help out if you were going to maintain this intensity of look every day... We did need each others help on hair and corsets....

Next year maybe you should try to submit a new self portrait of the thinner you!

Yeah you rocked it big time, I was super covetous! I guess back then it really helped to have a big extended family, lots of cousins to help each other into their clothes and do each other's hair!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
