That's wonderful!! Awesome job! What were both of your starting weights & heights? I just started my preop diet today, surgery in 2 weeks and would love to know what you've been doing?

Cardio 4 times a week. 60 minutes

I eat mostly seafood like crab, fish and shrimp. I eat chicken every now and then because since surgery I get bad heart burn every time I eat it. I drink about 90 ounces of Water a day and average 60 to 75 grams of Protein a day.

I try to get in some form of exercise as often as possible. I work 7 12 hr nights so it's not always easy to exercise.

I eat mostly chicken and fish. I haven't been able to eat any form of beef since surgery, makes me physically ill. I generally get in 50-70 grams of Protein and about 64 ounces of Water.

Good luck with surgery! Keep us updated.

Oh and 5'4" and 258lbs. Stuck at 183 for last few days but it'll pass. Stalls are just part of this. If I could exercise more, probably be better but I'm very happy with my results thus far.

hi, is there anyone around in this post lately? lol I am in process of researching and planning and want o have gastric sleeve, so far I believe I have decided on Dr. Maliapur at Huntsville Hospital. For those of you that have BC BS and didn't have to go through the 6 months thing how did you get around that? I really would love to get this on the road. I am planning on scheduling to attend an info meeting that Dr. Maliapur requires you to attend before get your first appointment. Also for those who used other doctors can you please let me know what made you decide to choose that doctor? I want to make sure I make the correct choice in doctors so would love opinions. Thanks

Hi! I somehow found this post through a google search...are you all still around? Was your experience with Dr. Suggs good? I am self paying, and he is MUCH cheaper than the doctor here in Huntsville. :) I am meeting with nutritionist next week. Hope all is going well for you all! :)

Hi Malin! Im just starting to look jnto getting the sleeve in the huntsville area. I will be self paying too! I was curious the ball park cost for Dr. Suggs? The doctor i was looking at in Birmingham was like 12000, but that included surgery insurance. Any info you can share would be great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
