DonnaMarie28 18 Posted March 2, 2014 Alexisny- I take Omeporzole every morning. My dr gave me a script for 1 year after surgery. Sorry your not feeling well! I would call your dr on Monday!
alexisny 45 Posted March 2, 2014 Did they not put you on something for that?? My doc put me on nexium in the soluable form. No acid problems at all. Yes they put me on a liquid but it is horrible and makes my stomach upset. Trying to figure out how to balance it without the meds
alexisny 45 Posted March 2, 2014 Alexisny- I take Omeporzole every morning. My dr gave me a script for 1 year after surgery. Sorry your not feeling well! I would call your dr on Monday! I have a script for carafate that you are supposed to take 4x a day. My stomach can't take it. It makes me nauseous, so I only take it when it is really bad. I want to see if anyone has any tricks to controlling it without meds. My theory is that it happens when my stomach wants food to digest and it is overdeveloping the acid. alexisny 45 Posted March 2, 2014 Alexisny- I take Omeporzole every morning. My dr gave me a script for 1 year after surgery. Sorry your not feeling well! I would call your dr on Monday! Btw Donna, I don't eat any carbs like the following: No Pasta, no rice, no bread, not one thing and in my eyes, it is not worth reintroducing this into my diet and compromising the results of the sleeve. My feeling is I didn't go through all this pain and angst, away from my kids, not holding my toddler etc to let something like carbs slow me down. I have lost 37 lbs since my surgery date of 1/27/14; naturally and in a healthy manner following my NUTs program and using fun recipes on Pinterest. I cook for my husband and my children every night and eat around 2 oz of Protein combined with something every time I get that little nudge to eat. It may be just me, but I am not going there with those types of carbs for quite some time. There are so many other great options. Let me know if you want a few recipes. good luck. DonnaMarie28 18 Posted March 2, 2014 Your doing great Alexis! I wonder if your dr can change your medicine? Acid reflux is probably so uncomfortable. I hope it improves for you! Yes I agree with you regarding carbs. I bought more Protein and veg today. I'm sticking with carb free! Good luck!

amayzme 15 Posted March 6, 2014 What is Water loading?? I have not heard that term. Sorry.
fotogrphr 69 Posted March 6, 2014 It is a rediculous method to cheat in weight loss competitions (biggest loser). The contestant uses sodium overload to make their body retain Water so they weigh in heavy at the start of the contest. Then they stop all sodium to lose it so they have a huge weight loss. It should never be used by anyone seriously trying to lose weight properly.
path2me 29 Posted March 29, 2014 I'm curious how everyone is doing? I'm just shy if 11 wks out and although I'm down 35 solid and 46" overall body - the scale has barely budged the last few wks. A pound or 2 this last month. It's hard not to get frustrated and am wondering if it's normal to plateau like this? I've been in the gym 4-6 times a wk since 6 wks out, oddly that's when losing slowed down, also when I started full foods. I'd love a little encouragement or some tips. I'm tempted to go back to liquids or purées and see if it makes a difference.
frankenbelly51 2 Posted March 29, 2014 From what I understand stalls in weight loss are normal. I don't know why, but I guess they happen. Mine stalls for a few days during my period week. I guess examine what you are eating very carefully. I sometimes am tempted to go back to purees sometimes. Just hang in there, it will pick up again. 1 path2me reacted to this

I'm tempted to go back to liquids or purées and see if it makes a difference. I'm pretty sure 85% of us January sleeves have hit stalls by now. I've had 2 maybe 3 stalls already. I was sleeved on 01/06. I go down 3 one day to be up by 5 the next day. It's just back and fourth. I'm down 52 from HW and 47 from the day I was released from the hospital. I have up my Protein to 100g to help pull me out of the stalls. This is a hard journey. But I don't regret it one bit. I will say I have noticed a decrease in weight loss since I have been working out. I'm not sure if it's from gaining muscle or what. 1 path2me reacted to this
doneganregime1 43 Posted March 29, 2014 Hate to say it but are you working out too much or not eating enough? Personally for me, I just started working out. I've lost 10 lbs every month since surgery on 1/14. Since working out I've increased my calories and Protein to 80g. I heard that stalls are normal but it seems like if you're not getting enough calories and you're burning too many, your metabolism slows down (starvation mode). Makes sense. 1 path2me reacted to this
