I went on my pre op diet July 19tj weighing in at 307. My highest way ever was the summer before at 322. My surgery was July 29th and I weighed in at 297. I was worried that I wouldn't do good with this new life.

The first couple weeks I struggled but then I started feeling better. Once the pain was gone I started loving the weight coming off. I am now a little over 4 months out and down 65#. I have had a few stalls and am in the midst of one now but I started comparing pictures because I still don't see it when I look in the mirror. Right now I only have face before amd after but later I will do whole body. I need some more motivation. :)

Honestly I just try to forget and keep eating right.. I did go off track over thanksgiving and am trying to kick the bad sugars again. Usually when I stall i just try to change up what I am eating. I usually only track when I am in a stall... usually It breaks but sometimes injust have to wait it out.. its frustrating but I know if I do the right thing it will work itself out...

Thank you all for the kind words. When I did the full body I kind of was shocked. I guess I didn't realize how big I looked or how small I have gotten.

Thanks. Coincidence actually. I took that picture then looked for a full body picture and that's what I found lol :) majes a good comparison though. Crazy that even friends and family wete in denial about how big I was.. I posted it on Facebook and got soooo many responses but most were that wasn't you. I don't remember you being that big...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
