2 Week Pre-Op Diet

Recommended Posts

I I made it through day four of the pre-op diet without a hitch. Really think I've got this, not saying it's a walk I the park, but doable. Working out thou him kinda a slacker, just feel tired to go. Anyone else struggling with their work out routine during pre op? Or if you're totally Rockin it would love to know your routine

I know I was barely able to stay AWAKE during the first few days of pre-op. I literally took naps on days 1 through four. Working out would not have been possible for me.

I am not working out. I'm having knee and hip issues that um hoping weight loss will help. However, I am on day 4 also and I'm also doing very well. I am so relieved! I certainly WANT all kinds of foods but I'm a rule followerer and have been moving along just great!

Also surprised that I am not tired.

The first four days were definitely the hardest for me - it will get easier as your body adjusts.

I also found drinking green tea really helped me - I wasn't a tea drinker prior to the pre-op diet.

Hang in there and keep your eye on the prize. It will be over before you know it!!!!!

On day three AND have a cold, so yes the energy is gone! However, the cold might be a blessing because it covers up the horrible taste of some of these Protein shakes! Lol!

On day three, so far so good :) I decided not to work out at all, I don't think my intake is enough to exercise and not really feel exhausted the next day.

Yeah not a bad idea at all. I mean we give up caffeine, calories, sugar, carbs, wheat and pretty much all chewing...there's a lot of adjusting. It's okay to slow down a bit :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
