Yes. I had RNY in Jan 2005. I lost nearly 100 lbs. In Jan 2009 I started gaining weight. After falling into a severe depression after a horrible divorce I turned back to food and stretched my pouch out. I recently had a revision to make the pouch and it's opening smaller.

Thanks for responding back. I guess I'm feeling anxious because I had my procedure over 2 years ago and recently I have gained 5 pounds back and noticed that I'm able to eat more and more,

Good for you for reacting quickly to a minor gain!! Compared to what you have presumably lost, losing five pounds is nothing. Are you maintaining a food log? If not, now is a great time to start. My Fitness Pal highly recommended if you don't have an app already. Set your app for losing a pound a week with the associated calorie goal. Follow your plan for a week and see what happens with your weight. If you lose, great. If you gain or stay the same, reduce your calorie goal by 100-200 calories a day. Follow your plan for a week and see what happens with your weight. You'll quickly be able to determine the calorie goal you need to maintain to lose the five pounds. It's easy and it works like a charm!!

Great job catching it so soon! My dietician has a great way for us to monitor our weight once in maintenance.

A 1-3 pound up or down is considered a 'green' light meaning it could be a normal fluctuation.

3-5 pounds up is considered a 'yellow' light meaning slow down and assess what you need to change you're headed in the wrong direction.

Anything more than 5 lbs gained is 'red'. Stop immediately. Start logging food and Water intake if not doing so already. Call and make a dietician appt. If you have gained but food and Water choices are good.

The important thing is to catch it fast. I for one go into ostrich mode when gaining weight. I bury my head and then 40 or 50 lbs later try and change. After my rny I vowed I'd never play that game again.

Glad it helps. It was profound for me too because it makes those minor bounces just that a minor bounce. Plus it is easy to visualize a stop light as a cue.

My scale is in my bathroom linen closet and I thought about putting a flag in there on the wall green, yellow or red as a reminder of where I am. I only weigh once a week (issues with scales) so being honest and cognizant of it is important to me.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
