December 3, 2013 Is My Turn

Recommended Posts

OMG exciting. May God carry you through this surgery and journey with NO complication or pain. Mine is scheduled for next Monday. Tomorrow I go for my blood work so I'm hoping that they don't reschedule. But please keep me posted once you're post op. Praying for your speedy recovery. Good luck.

Congrats Linda305!

I just had mine on 11/20 down 20 pounds... :D

My surgery went without a hitch!

Had alot of folks praying for me and now I pray for you!

Father, I pray for Linda, that her surgery will be uneventful and completely successful without complications. I pray for everyone in that operating room to assist with perfect precision! In Jesus name! Amen You Go Girl!

Numenow!

Do u have ur morning all planned out................. One thing I can tell u is to bring loose clothes for way home.... U don't want Nothing that will be tight on ur stomach..... Second is I had a pillow for way home just in case of pain, u can use the pillow on ur belly and put pressure it helps with pain for the bumps on way home...

Thank you my sleeve sisters and brothers for all the well wishes. I am doing fine and in my room at the hospital. Minimum pain and can't believe I'm a sleever now and on the loser bench. I wish all of those after me a safe and smooth recovery.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
