This Is Ridiculous!

Anyone have to do Nutrition classes? And so, did you actually gain weight instead of lose weight? I'm about to cry here. I have done everything what the Nutritionist has told me to do and I've done nothing but gain weight. It's very depressing!

Yes I have to do one that's on Dec16/13 this is my 5th month, and although I am exercising everyday I have lost some weight but I think it should have been more but that's is the main reason I need this surgery. By the way can you explain what your class covered?

Eating properly. Getting in Protein. Avoiding sugars and processed food. How much you should be eating on a small plate. Preparing for post-surgery.

I just recently finished 4 of 6 - lost 2 months, gained 2 months, still right smack where I started. I do feel like some of my habits are getting better, like counting Protein and getting more Water in, stuff like that. Counts for something, right?

I have 2 classes, December 16th and the 23rd. But I've lost 20 pounds. I've been doing a lot of walking and cut out sweets and pop and occasionally been doing 2 shakes a day and a small meal for dinner

Had one required class preop and one at the hospital postop the day after surgery. We went over my doctor's eating plan for the sleeve, the different stages, liquids, amounts of protein/carbs/fats, exercise, and Vitamins.< /p>

Do the best you can. Learn as much as you can.

Start curring out the "no-nos", smoking, carbonated drinks, caffine.

Start practicing keeping records and eating focused on Proteins and veggies.

Don't worry on losing weight. Work on following a plan and getting in control of the "fat brain"

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
