2Nd Fill.....

Recommended Posts

Patiently waiting to get my 2nd fill, I have not really felt a difference with my first fill that I got Nov 7th. I only have 2ccs in my band right now, and feeling very discouraged and afraid of losing all my progress I've made. I feel like I haven't even had surgery at all, with the exception of some mornings when I can feel that my band is tighter. I'm trying to keep pushing through and exercising and using Portion Control. I have to wait until Dec 19th to get my second fill. My dr office makes u wait 6wks from surgery to have the first fill and then another 6wks to have your second and then you can have one every 2 - 3 wks. On a brighter note my nurse who had the surgery said she lost the most weight after her second fill. So I'm still hopeful, the holidays are making it hard no doubt.

After my first fill, and before my second, I GAINED weight....did nothing at all.....

My second fill did make a difference, curbed my appetite somewhat between meals, but that was about it....

For me, it took three fills before it really kicked in....

Everyone is deifferent, what you're experienceing has been mentioned here 1000 times....

3 fills for B-52, and about 8 fills (not sure if theres been 8 exactly I've lost count) and 4 months for me, and restriction is still not consistent.

I can lose 3-5lbs the first week after a fill and then gain it all back the second week.

My adjustments are every 2 weeks.

Until u can reach the green zone, which as u can see, varies from person to person, the weight you lose now will heavily depend upon your own dieting and exercising habits.

Once ur band is tight enough to restrict food intake consistently, weightloss is still in your hands.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
