Tilly Kaye 20 Posted December 1, 2013 I'm just about 6 weeks out and really struggling. I am having so many problems eating. Nothing is sitting right. I either feel nauseous or just so full I want to throw up (and I haven't eaten enough to justify that). I did pretty well the first three weeks but now I just constantly feel awful. I'm not getting my Vitamins, Protein or Water in (they aren't sitting right either). I'm set to go to the doc's office on Wednesday. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm trying every combination of timing and even going back to puréed food. Nothing seems to be working. Aargh.
SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted December 1, 2013 I had a lot of nausea weeks 2-6 (still get it sometimes at 9 months out). I lived off zofran for a while. I also eventually figured out that nausea was my signal I was hungry. Let your doc know. There are things he can give you. You need those fluids!!!

Mycloice2lose 3 Posted December 1, 2013 Nov 11th was my surgery. Did Protein drinks for 2 weeks then started eating slowly. Threw my guts up, the pain was horrible. Like something was ripping through my stomach. Nurse told me after throwing up, nothing for 4 hours then start tea and see if it stays down. If I throw up again to wait another 4 hours until the stomach calms down and the swelling goes down, then back on liquid diet for 48 hrs. So, I did that and have been going slow all week. Today, started good, then for lunch a small piece of chicken (really chewed good) and some applesauce. Well for the past hour or so, the pains, like before, are coming back with a vengence. I haven't thrown up but it's ripping through me. My 2nd appt. is Wed. so I'll see what they say. sigh.......
aprilvkey 0 Posted December 2, 2013 I had surgery on 11/13/13. I was in the hospital for 5 days due to some blood loss and now on lots of extra Iron. Because of the blood loss, I have little energy. Doing pretty well on food but the smell & taste of Protein Drinks suddenly turns my stomach. Trying to force it down but very difficult. I am still very happy that I had the surgery and look forward to the next phase. I was on 177 units of insulin daily and now down to 20 units per day and my doctor expects that this will go away within the month. Hang in there! We are still at the beginning of our journey.
