There are many, many posts on stalls -- esp early on. Consider a search as there is lots of good info.

Rin, sounds like a stall, which means you just grin and bear it. As Cabin said, search on stalls, there are tons of posts. Some people only weigh monthly, which isn't a bad idea at all.

That said, what is your Protein vs carbs vs fats makeup? Are you getting in 60-80 gr of Protein in daily? How many carbs are you taking in daily? Are you drinking your 8 glasses of fluids?

I'm 7 1/2 weeks and have lost 34 lbs. I haven't stalled yet but my loss is slow. I don't think you're eating enough simply by calories but lots of others on here eat the same as you. I get 1000-1200/day. Just hang in! You're losing plenty!

To make the rest of you feel better, 33-34 pounds in 7 weeks is not slow at all! I don't know why your surgeon even put that idea in your head. You both are doing great! To put it in perspective, I have only lost 52 pounds in almost six months and my surgeon has said nothing negative about my loss rate which is a little over 2 pounds a week (now that's slow, but still happy). My surgeon said everyone loses at a different rate and to just not compare myself to others. Good advice.

I know! My surgeon would have never said that. I am hoping it was a poorly worded reaction resulting in a misunderstanding. I think the OP is doing great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
