SuperKen 231 Posted December 1, 2013 Driving to Los Angeles from Visiting my mom and vacationing in Las Vegas. I have to say it was and is the biggest eating challenge of my post op era. Finding and making good food choices in Vegas is almost near impossible most of the casino/hotels serve extra large full of fat, sugar, & sodium meals. This is so hard. I'm out of my element meaning I can't control how I make my meals on this 12 day vacation.
NMJG 1,266 Posted December 1, 2013 Yes, it can be a nightmare in Vegas. I feel for you.
patva 11 Posted December 1, 2013 I just left from Vegas. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. At the buffets, I chose the meats first, and then ate vegetables. I just had a spoonful of desert. Even at a burger place. In took the meat off and ate that. The only issue I had was not drinking so close to eating, and if course the drinking alcohol. I realized that I am now that I can only drink 1 1/2 glasses of wine .

There are places that don't have buffets that you can get a salad and just eat the toppings or grilled chicken breast with veggies. They're very accommodating if you ask. Have a great time! I did a lot of walking and working out while there.
Cabingirl 55 Posted December 2, 2013 I'm headed to LV in several weeks (I've traveled to LV a number of times, but this is the first time sleeved). Like you I was a bit concerned. I found a number of restaurants just off the strip but very walkable that served the kinds of food we will eat and who appear to be very accommodating. You'll have a wonderful time.
