Great thread. But I'll refrain from posting a photo of my bariatric pudding and/or my Cracker Barrel scrambled eggs from earlier. If I had one of those.

In a few weeks, though…watch out.

Actually I'm curious. What exactly is a bariatric pudding?

I LOVE palak paneer! I make a "healthy" version with tofu instead of paneer--lower in fat.

My husband is from Pakistan so we cook South Asian food a lot. I've been worried about being able to eat Indian/Pakistani food after being sleeved. I suppose if I stay away from the rice and the naan bread I should be OK.

Thanks for posting! B)

Noor that was Pakistani beef curry :) I basically took a Nihari recipe and made it with ground beef instead. We don't eat rice and naan. Instead, I sometimes make zucchini "noodles" and put the curry on that. I have cut down on the dal quite a bit though and sometimes I miss my dal-chawal :(

YES! Even by sleeve standards that's insane. What does your partner think about all of it? Is he being nice?

Well about a week and a half ago I passed him in weight. He said he's a little jealous but has been so supportive of me. So I am really supportive of him. He lets me handle the food and has been eating much less. We share food a lot, especially when we go out.

If you consider eating Indian food normal that is :)

So if you're worrying you won't be able to eat or enjoy your food or be normal? Here's what I made for lunch today. Brown rice for the kids, ground beef curry, cucumber/tomato/Greek yogurt salad, palak paneer (spinach. with a homemade cheese). Apart from the rice, all good for us sleevers to eat.

I sometimes see people thinking they won't enjoy food, or that they can only have baked chicken and steamed vegetables. SO not true. I make Indian, Thai, Ethiopian, Greek etc all the time.

What is true however, is that my two kids (23 and 13) and my husband and I all ate--and we finished about a fourth of the food you see here :)

Feel free to post pics of what you're enjoying today that is sleeve friendly.

These look really really yummy!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
