Wow I love that is thread is still going strong! I've kept up my blog which has turned very recipe heavy. Lately I've done a lot of sugar free Desserts etc on there but still have lots of easy cooking recipes to share. The URL is www.twosleevers.com.

In addition to checking it out, if any of you would like to guest post a recipe, do let me know. Ersopher has been a regular contributor of yummi ness :)

Below are a couple of things we made lately. Korean galbi made easy and chickpea brownies (best things ever!) with sugar free frosting that tastes like real food instead of a chemical sh$tstorm :)[/

I just got in on this so please don't stop lol! The brownies look amazing and I don't think my husband will know!!

I tell you what, he will definitely not know for tasting them! I can't tell the difference. We are going to try them with agave nectar this weekend. We tried stevia and it was a no go

Yellow squash with proscuitto as a side dish for pork ribs. Because you can never have too much pork.

Thank you! My husband is unrecognizable. We look at his before and now pictures, and it doesn't even look like the same man. He's turned into a very skinny man. Such a wonderful journey.

I know the feeling my husband is now below his goal weight and looks like he was never big it's crazy. I still have about 46lb to go but know without a doubt it works, all I have to do is look at him. Great experience with fantastic rewards when we get to where we want to be.

Today I made chocolate Coconut "Fudge" with chocolate Protein Powder. It ended up having 8 gms Protein, 8 gms fat, and 7 gms net carbs. Not bad for a treat! And no cooking either, which makes it perfect. Interestingly, I think if you omitted the coconut, this would actually qualify as a soft food for post-surgery. Not bad eh?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
