Recommended Posts

Another one of my Europe trip lunches. My husband and I shared a quiche Lorraine and a cheese quiche. Ate all but the crust

We went to a Mexican restaurant yesterday. lunch was beef fajitas, barracho Beans, guacamole and salad instead of rice.

I ate most of the fajitas, some guacamole about half of the Beans and 2 small bites of the salad.

How far out are you and when did you first attempt beef?

Shel

I LOVE palak paneer! I make a "healthy" version with tofu instead of paneer--lower in fat.

My husband is from Pakistan so we cook South Asian food a lot. I've been worried about being able to eat Indian/Pakistani food after being sleeved. I suppose if I stay away from the rice and the naan bread I should be OK.

Thanks for posting! B)

I am able to eat a little brown rice. I use chicken broth to make it.

I am almost 14 months out but I've been able to eat beef since I was allowed solids. My sleeve hasn't had a problem with anything except sugar and fat the entire time.

I started eating beef around 6-7 weeks out after I was cleared for solids. Never had an issue with beef, except when I eat too much by accident haha. chicken gives me a lot more trouble.

I found ground beef easy from soft foods onward. Thin sliced stirfry beef was always fine on solids and steak by 3 months or so. I could probably have gone faster.

By the way someone asked about bacon. I had it in the soft food phase because I could chew it well.

I'm having 2 little appetizers of manchego cheese wrapped in Serrano ham(maybe not the lowest fat but 9grams protein), a few raspberries and a few smoke almonds!

I have those same little bowls from target! It makes serving my meals so much easier. When I use regular size plates / bowls I over serve myself.

I saw them on clearance a few weeks ago and snatched them up for that exact reason :) plus the fox was perfect! My kids love that song(if you can call it a song lol)

Prime rib (fat trimmed), mashed potatoes and a bit of broccoli (some veggies are still hard to eat depending on the day). I'm nearly three months out :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
