Me and my husband plan on having 2 more kids, and the thing I wonder about is I know when you get pregnant they take all the saline out of the band, but with my first baby throwing up was a daily ritual for most of the nine months? Has anybody had any babies while being banded. I had to pay $18,000 for my surgery and it also covers fills and the risk of slippage and erosion for 1 yr and my year is up 7-5-07. So if it slips, I'm in big trouble.

but your question made me wonder about something.

If you have insurance, but it doesn't cover the lap band procedure because it is experimental or weight loss surgery isn't covered or whatever reason they give... if the band slips, it is cinsidered a medical condition at that point, right? I mean, the fixing of the band is no longer to lose weight, it then becomes justifiable health condition just like any other. I am not sure if this is how it works, but it was just my way of thinking that they could not deny fixing it if something goes wrong that could harm you.

To be honest I dont have a clue. My insurance is very crappy. I stay at home with my 16 month old and we are self employed-its hard to get good health insurance when you are overweight. But I totally see what you are saying.
