Cmiller1743 11 Posted December 2, 2013 I am now 7 days post sleeve and things are looking up. I stopped the pain meds a couple of days ago and I am feeling good even sleeping on my side and stomach. I can drink as much Water as I like, I only feel it if I drink to fast like I did before the sleeve. I am not sure if that is the sleeve telling me it's full or not, but I am sure that it will make me drink and eat slower. I have no issue getting the Protein in other than I am sick of it. Can't wait to start on scrambled eggs and cottage cheese next week. I am walking 2 miles a day and hope to keep increasing that. I am down 8 lbs from my pre op weight. 2 Comstock and soonerorlater reacted to this
Comstock 13 Posted December 2, 2013 I'm on day 6 and feeling much better. I am able to eat and drink more easily the last couple of days and can actually consume a mug of Soup if I take my time. I had gained 4 lbs since leaving the hospital but don't know if I've lost that now. People said it's because of gas and fluids from the hospital, so hope that's the case. I'm tired of feeling like an invalid and bored! I don't seem to be able to concentrate enough to do projects so I'm looking forward to next week when I am sure I'll feel more normal. Looking forward to the pounds starting to come off. 1 soonerorlater reacted to this

Kelly G 31 Posted December 2, 2013 I was sleeved 11/21 and am down 12 lbs from the pre-op diet and another 11 lbs since surgery. I am slowly getting more energy, but still wipe out easily. It's that darn abdominal muscle that's still hurting me the most. I only just started sleeping in the bed a few nights ago, and often wake up in pain from all the moving I do in my sleep without realizing. I stopped taking the pain meds around day 4 post op and haven't looked back. I am supposed to go back to work a week from today, so I hope this muscle heals up more by then or else it's going to be really hard to go back to work. I am also in the boat of not noticing a change in appearance/clothes. All of my clothes fit just the same, and when I measured myself, I haven't lost any inches. It's really frustrating. I am getting all fluids/protein in per day and have been since about day 4 post op... 1 soonerorlater reacted to this

ClaireT25 2 Posted December 2, 2013 I am 6 days post op. About 18# down. I am no longer sore but I am experiencing some blurry vision. I am taking in about 30 g of protien and trying to raise that amount slowly. My biggest problem is relaxing and taking it easy cause I'm constantly moving around. I am so ready to get into the soft phase of eating but I still have around 9 days to go!
hatters 47 Posted December 2, 2013 I had mine on Nov 21. I am down 13 lb. from surgery and down 31lb since the 14 day pre op diet. I am having a horrible time drinking Water. Every day it feels like it’s getting easier but it's still hard. I have been drinking 32 oz. but really trying for 64. I can get about 1/2 cup of Soup down in the evening. I am trying Protein shakes but I think I am only getting 30 grams at the max a day. Which is really hard for me since for the last year I have drank about two Protein Shakes day. Also all of the Protein Shakes that I liked before I think are horrible now. I think I am going to try those Protein shot things. I made some protein sugar free pudding. Taste really really good but only can eat about 1/4 cups. Question: How long are you guys giving yourselves to eat. say an 1/2 cup of soup?

CathyA 35 Posted December 2, 2013 Wow that's long time on pain meds i got off them before leaving Hospital sleeved 19th too on my way to work tonight energy abound. but guess we are all different. i can't stand the dreams and always needing to sleep. My 5 herina Operations before were much more painful. I used tylenol at home. Everyone is different. Although I took the meds for a while I did not take them consistently I took them when I felt I needed them, as is the reason they are prescribed! I do not have an addictive personality and have had multiple C-sections so I am well versed in pain from surgery and how my body reacts. I also found those were much more painful than this procedure however I also did not experience heart and lung complications in any of those surgeries causing me to spend two days in complete blurriness unaware of what I was receiving. Glad to hear that you are doing so well and more power to you but you may want to word things different, many people who use the pain meds need them and not because they are addicted or will be. It is simply a tool, if you need them then use them if you don't, then don't but no one should feel less because they chose that option.
MindiJean 93 Posted December 2, 2013 Back from the surgeon's. My total loss, from two days after surgery, 10 days ago, is 17 pounds. Is that good?
prettybrwneyes 1 Posted December 3, 2013 Sleeved 11/25, I feel good but I'm having a hard time with "mental hunger"... I'm not physically hungry but I feel like I want to eat food! I'm still on Clear Liquids so maybe get better with soft foods, I'm so tired of drinking!!! I want to eat!! I'm feeling very deprived, normal?
craftymama100 8 Posted December 3, 2013 Update: I went to my first post op appt today. I'm going to have to throw my scale out cuz the doctor's is around 5 pounds heavier. LOL! But I still lost 26 pounds since my surgery on 11/14. Plus I got cleared to go back to work starting tomorrow and all looks good. The doc says that the "swollen" feeling on the tummy is normal due to fluids and such from the surgery. I am hoping that now I am cleared to exercise more, that will start going down. I was also cleared to start pureed foods! Wahoo!! So tomorrow morning I am having an egg. I can't wait! Feeling pretty good to start moving back towards "normal." I know it is a little shuffle that way, but I will take it. Hahaha! Really nice to read all of your updates. Through the good and bad, it is nice to have others who understand. 1 soonerorlater reacted to this
