Miss The Morning Coffee

Recommended Posts

First, I'm a Lap Bander, if that makes any difference....coming up on 4 years since surgery....

I cannot live without coffee....

I had my first cup about 12 hours after surgery....I drink coffee the same as I ever did....which means all the time...

Has never been an issue with my Dr....

But do not do as others do, but do as your Dr. directs you to do and follow his/hers treatment plan...

I can't stand Decaf none of is good. My nut said no coffee 6 months then one cup a day. They are wrong on diet it's a fact studies bear it out low calorie exercise diet will keep you fat cause you will be hungry the low fat craze is misguided but they depend on government for much so they go along. What does that have to do with coffee? I know but I Just really believe it's crazy to restrict it so much. I drink it for the buzz and flavor decaf has neither. I'm 6 weeks in a few days drink 4-5 a day exercising big time and drinking 120 ounces of Water. Low carb feeling full almost always just left gym Isopure and Starbucks holiday iced coffee coming up!

Try Chike High Protein Coffee. It contains two real expresso shots so the flavor is good and it gets me going in the morning, while giving me 20gr of Protein. I make it in the blender w/water and crushed ice. It tastes just like a Dunkin Donuts coffee coolatta! (Like a coffee frappe, for those who may not know what a coolatta is) Delicious!

I was buying it from Amazon but my favorite nutrition store, Performance Nutrition, is ordering it for me now. I like to support local businesses. It comes in a canister or a box of individual envelopes. I bought a blender for the break room at work and take the envelopes on my long day when I work 10-11 hours. :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
