Best places to buy Protein Shakes that are good. I like Boost, the vanilla flavor...omg its so good. I haven't had surgery yet, however, I drink that on a regular anyway.

We are such individuals! I like Nature's Best - Extreme smoothies, both chocolate and vanilla.

Premier is the best I've found.

I'm not allowed to have Boost, or Ensure...NUT said too much hiden sugar, not enough Protein per serving and high on the carb side.

So far, I've not found any Protein supplements that are tolerable. I've tried Syntax peach nectar, unjury and GNC's Protein powder. I was told not to do Boost due to the carbs, but am concerned that I won't be able to find anything palatable prior to my surgery the 13th of December. Any suggestions?

Right now I can choose the Protein I want, but the week prior to my date of 12/23 I can only have

1) 4 1/2 bottles of Boost Glucose Controlled daily,

OR

2) 4 1/2 cans of Slim Fast High Protein daily,

OR

3) 5 1/2 packets Carnation Instant Breakfast No Sugar Added with 1%

milk,

OR

4) 5 individual cartons of Atkins Advantage.

I was told that what calories there are, I need. They don't want me to go without some calories and nutrients every day. Then after my surgery, I can choose my own protein again.

I'm not sure, but most people said premier is good.

I wasn't tolerating Protein Shakes until I started freezing it like a slush and drinking that way. I like premiere now but couldn't stomach it until ifroze it.

Rockin Refuel by Shamrock Farms. It's not whey, but I couldn't get that stuff down.

It has a lot of carbs; it seems almost impossible to find a Protein product without a lot of carbs that doesn't taste awful. Thanks for your help; I appreciate it much.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
