I'm down 92 lbs!! Feel like a completely new person! I will lose 3-4 lbs then bounce around for 2 or 3 weeks then lose again. I'm going to have to up the exercise. I really wanted to lose 100 before my 6 month. But I couldn't be happier! Good luck!!!

While I am so happy for those of you posting 75 and 100+ pound losses, I am getting so discouraged. I've only lost about 44 pounds in 6 months. I am working so hard to eat right, exercise, and do everything we're supposed to do, but the weight just is not coming off very quickly.

I am not giving up since I definitely am losing....just not very quickly. On the other hand, it could be worse. I could have gained 44 pounds.

I'm sure you're doing everything right but hey at least yours is more natural and people don't look at you like you're crazy or on drugs!

It all depends on your start weight too. I was 314. So I'm going to lose faster than someone who weighed less than me to start. Plus we all lose at different rates. It'll happen. I know I don't/didn't have patience... But it will happen. :)

I agree with Sarah. Just keep working your plan & don't give up!! I am super strict on carb intake cause I was diabetic before. My loss has dramatically decreased in the last 6 weeks but I'm a lot closer to my original goal. I get aggravated with the scale but I know in my head my body is just trying to adjust. Best of luck!!

Me too! I've lost 60 pounds only and only one size in clothing. I went back to a post op liquid diet for 3 days to restart my system and starting exercising twice a day. I lost 4 pounds this week hopefully it keeps up! Good luck!

When I had surgery I "only" had 80 pounds to lose. Starting weight was 229. Doctor set a goal of 149. I thought he was INSANE. I could never weigh that. Well, 6 months out and I'm at 168. Only 19 pounds from goal! I went shopping with my family today. I was expecting to be a size 12. I came home with three pairs of size 8 jeans! It's so weird. I walked into New York & Co. (I haven't shopped there since I was 17 and it was called Lerner New York! Haha.) I picked up some 12s and 10s. I couldn't believe it when the sales assistant suggested i would need an 8. Clearly she had suffered a stroke or something. But she was right! I am so excited to shop now!

For the slow losers, in the last two months I have only lost ten pounds. It's hard to hit the slow loss wall so I cant imagine how irritating it is to have always been a slow loser. I work out with a trainer twice a week and run almost every day. Its hard! But for me I try to look at it in a positive way. If I had never had this surgery, no diet and no amount of exercise would have helped me lose ten pounds over two months. So even though losing slow is frustrating, for me it's still a blessing.

Ok this question is for anyone who has had a dumping. I have had it a few times now but it's been awhile, I am unable to pin point what is setting it off as each time it's happened it's been something different. Anywho, last night I ate about 6:30 pm or so and then at 8:30 I had a handful of popcorn, never had a prob with popcorn. It started at 11:15pm and woke me up. It didn't subside until 3ish. So my question is, has anyone else had the dumping syndrome for this length of time?

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
