Thanks !! Yeah I figured I could drink it all day. How else would I get my Protein? Lol I try to have fish or chicken a lot and yogurt and that shake. But I'm no where near my 65 g. I still have trouble with my Vitamins. I need tastier chewables

I don't think any doc or nut would be upset with you trying to get your protein in

I keep struggling to get all my Protein and liquids. On top of that I barely eat, its not a pleasant feeling at all, get full fast and makes me feel so uncomfortable right away. Im sick of eating the same over and over, I tried to have an egg but did not agree with my stomach at all and threw up just like 10 min after. Surprisingly I lost only 21 lbs and is like 28 days since my surgery, got stuck for a week with no change. Not happy right now but I keep telling myself it will improve

A stall in the first 3-4 weeks is completely normal. I know that doesn't help you feel better about it. I am also tired of the monotony. But I know it will get better. I hope you try to look to the future when you're feeling better and eating a more normal diet. We will get there one day.

I had an exciting morning. I am wearing shorts I haven't been able to wear for a year and a t-shirt I haven't worn since 4th of July 2012! Ahh. And I feel SOOO cute. Haha. Just had to share.

That is sooo awesome. I know you must be so thrilled.

I also had a great day. With a NSV too. I had bought a pair of tan capris pants back in 2009 that were just a bit tight, that was going to be my motivation to get into them. But never got into them... But today I soooo got into them, and they were not tight. It's a huge deal to show my ankles since I have tree trunks for legs. But this is changing. I cannot wait until the day that I can get into a pair of shorts. Also, I ate shredded chicken tonight for the first time since surgery day, and it was Delish!!!

Hi Everyone!! Checking in. I've been on vacation with my kids and thought I'd share where I am at 4 weeks out. First the positives- down 30 since 1st pre- op meeting ( late January) and 27 since surgery. Clothes are starting to get baggy. My 9 year old said "you look hot, Mom" unexpectedly as we were going out for dinner. Sweet girl! I'm doing well with eating, but ordering out has been challenging. I use to consume a large quantity of food, back in the day, so I ordered two appetizers ( with my old brain) thinking that was so little food. When we started eating, I got 3 bites in and realized I couldn't finish half of the 1st app. So, being done, I sat there watching everyone else eat for the next hour. Gonna have to work on that. Honestly, the mental struggles are not as bad as I expected, because I'm starting to see results. I don't mind the challenges, (heartburn, small bites, loads of liquid, etc.) because they are no match for the exhaustion, both mental and physical, of carrying all that weight and really believing I was powerless against it. I can hardly believe when the scale keeps going down, because I haven't dropped 30 pounds in well over a decade. Just really glad I did this. I just started reading "The Emotional First-Aid Kit" for folks that have had bariatric surgery. It really gives an honest outlook of what we can expect ahead. Also, to get down that pesky Protein I've been drinking Isopure Protein Drink. It's a clear liquid that comes in a bottle, different flavors, too. It has 40 grams per bottle and much easier to get down ( although it's not super tasty), than several shakes. Anyhoo, y'all are all in my thoughts.

Girl, that's awesome!!

I have to share that as of this am, I'm down 37 pounds in a month, since I started my 2 week pre-op diet. I can't even believe it. I'm over the moon about it.

Isn't it amazing to look back on the last month? 3 weeks ago I thought I was gonna die. Now I'm running around in smaller clothes feeling great!

Congrats ladies! You all are doing super :-)

As for myself, even though it's only been two full weeks, I honestly thought if be losing a lil faster than this. I know I'm expecting too much and it'll pick up but dang it anyways lol. My doc wants me to get 80-100 gr of Protein a day, which I'm ok with I guess but a lot of it is going to come from shakes. I can't bring myself to purée meat of any sort, it's a texture thing maybe and I had a lil bit of mashed taters, thinned out tonight and my yummy isn't quite ready for it. But my pant are starting to get loose and tomorrow I hit the gym for the first time so I'm a-ok!

Hahahahahaha. Yes! Even a week ago I thought I was gonna die. Though now I think I'm gonna die, but only cause I'm never hungry and I'm going to starve to death.... Bahahahahaha.

I only keep track on myfitnesspal, and only weigh myself every few days. But I've lost 20 lbs in 2.5 weeks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
