Thank you so much for no judgement & the encouragement. I'm grateful that I've found this forum. Thanks again.

No judgment here. We are never gonna encourage someone to go off the diet, but this diet is very hard. It is the hardest thing to do and things happen. They just do. But you get up, dust yourself off, then grab the bull by the horns and hold on. You'll do great :D

Alright SF...I am packed!!!!!!

Yay!!!! I can't believe it?!?! Lmao

A few more things... They asked me to bring any current meds I'm taking in a ziplock bag. Not Bc they're gonna administer em, but to double check dosages, etc.

And if u were given an incentive spirometer to strengthen your lungs, take it.

I'm super excited for you!!!!!

Oh yeah. After my band I had atelectasis. It was terribly painful and my out-patient procedure became three days in the hospital. The IS will be used. And as for meds they asked me to Bering a list. It's only three meds. Lol.

Hey!!! Doing good so far, thanks! At least doing well on the preop stuff.

Having problems with the hubs. We have not been getting along lately. It doesn't have anything to do with my surgery. He's been pretty supportive so far - except when we were fighting Sunday and he told me that I chose this and I did this to myself, which is true. It just pissed me off.

They get scared and project it wrong. Guys aren't adept at showing how they feel and project it on to other things. I'm sorry you're having to deal with it right now. Sure you're doing this for you, but you're doing it for him too. To spend a longer, happier, healthier life with him. (((Hugs)))

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
