zumbagal 17 Posted January 28, 2014 I am a Feb 3 groupie and after losing 10 pounds pre op I thought " well if I keep eating like this maybe I can do it on my own". On day 1 and 2 of pre op diet I cheated and had some popcorn. Then I bought sugar free popsicles and I am back on track. I should not have read the complications with the sleeve thread. Pretty scary. I am sy ill committed to my 2-3 surgery but I had a dream I told my doctor nevermind. I'm outta here.
chonda 10 Posted January 28, 2014 @soontobesleeved i debated telling anyone other than my fiancee.. but i did tell my brother to see what he though my parents would say... i like you have an over dramatic mother that I love her to death but she lives in a box and anything outside that box is reason for panic per say... but after some thought and dropping hints i finally came out and told her. She's okay with my surgery she's not thrilled about the idea of me doing it in Mexico. But she also told me not to tell my Dad... LOL i'm not sure why.. but a few friends know and my coworkers.. other than that I haven't told many... it's your decision either to tell or not to tell. I just needed someone that was "IN MY OWN FAMILY" to know incase something happened (God forbid) since I wasn't married yet... Best of luck to you!!!
chris1142 148 Posted January 28, 2014 I'm February 4. Just finished week one of the starvation diet. We are allowed six Protein supplements a day for a total of 800 calories. Wasn't as bad as I had it built up in my mind to be. Lost 10# in the week. That's more than I've ever lost before. So I like that I'm getting a head start. Good luck to all of us and here's wishing everyone a smooth recovery.

David4040 7 Posted January 28, 2014 I'm scheduled to have my sleeve surgery February 10, 2014 in Denton, Texas. Dr Provost is my surgeon. I've started my pre-op diet and doing pretty well so far. Getting nervous but looking forward to dropping the weight and being healthy. 1 Kristin1969 reacted to this

charlieblue 24 Posted January 29, 2014 Don't read the complications page. Talk to your surgeon for personalized information. Stay mentally focused on a positive outcome! There's a separate topic with lots of helpful posts regarding the choice to tell or not to tell others about the surgery.
SuperFab 689 Posted January 29, 2014 I read the complications. I wanted to know the good, the bad and the ugly. I don't want something to happen and me go "I had no idea this was possible". Of course, I want to know that about any surgery. 1 Jencovi reacted to this
Jencovi 261 Posted January 29, 2014 Where do I even find the complications thread? I was given a list by my surgeon but I would still like to see what others have to say.
