Recommended Posts

Okay, so I was away from home, I'm on the soft food stage, an we hit a McDonald's ! I got chicken nuggets and fries! I eat the nuggets and they were the worst thing I ever ate! Barely got thru 2, and I was done! French fries tasted like salted dust! Is this forever! Lol! Every thing is tasting weird, but not so bad! It's more of an after taste with most thing! However the nuggets and fries were instant! Puke in my mouth! Nuggets were my fave , now they taste like a bat cave!!!!!

I had nuggets a few weeks ago when I needed Protein and nothing else was available, and Yuck! They were nasty. Don't think I'll be eating those again. However, Chick-fil-A has Grilled chicken Nuggets that are real chicken breast and are good. A pack of 4 stuffs me. Just skip the sauces.< /p>

Not to preach, but you would probably be better off staying away from fast food all together. Yes, your taste in food does change and perhaps that is a good thing for most of us. I am a year and a half out and some things that I used to enjoy taste and smell terrible. There are times when I have to go to fast food because of well....life. I do try to make good choices. At McDonald's, I would choose a side salad and a fruit parfait. Good luck!

Yea I think for every one , triggers are different! Fast food does not scare me , it's not the reason I got fat, and it's not a trigger! I was far away from home and needed food, I only ate two nuggets and four fries! But, again was just amazed at how it tasted!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
