Abigal 13 Posted November 27, 2013 I stall at week 2 and not 1 oz lost since then. Trying to keep my chin up but enough is enough.
Heather Kyle 3 Posted November 27, 2013 I too stalled at week 2. I lost 21 lbs my first week after surgery then nothing for another 2 weeks. It was super frustrating and made me doubt this whole surgery. But do not worry it does pass. Read around this site it does help. I thought i was the only one but everyone stalls around 2-3 weeks. But it does pass!!!! Keep your head up and keep in going !!! I am still new to this im only 10 weeks post surgery but I've already lost 48lbs. Dont let the stalls get you down. Your body needs to adjust and catch up with what it just went through. This site has been a savior to me, i haven't posted much but read it everyday an it keeps me going on my tough days. Good luck to you!!! 2 jamigotsleeved and life2celebrate reacted to this

Bluto 117 Posted November 27, 2013 It's a very common thing. Like Heather said, your body is just adjusting. I am at almost 5 months and had a stall at 3 weeks (like many people) and just came off another stall. This latest one lasted two weeks then this week I dropped 5 pounds so be patient it's a marathon not a sprint. Here's a great explanation of the stall (stolen from Butterthebean's signature :-) ) http://www.dsfacts.com/weight-loss-stall-or-plateau.html#.UpXqTcRDvTc

HypnotizingHazel 39 Posted November 28, 2013 I stall at week 2 and not 1 oz lost since then. Trying to keep my chin up but enough is enough. I am 7 months post op. There have been lots of stalls along the way! Each stall makes you doubt you will continue to lose. I'm here to tell you it WILL continue! Make good food choices, exercise, and it will happen faster. Make a few bad choices, don't exercise and it will still happen, only slower. You will succeed! Good luck to you!
soonerorlater 139 Posted November 28, 2013 I am 24 days post op and have been stalled for 17 days. I lost 14 lbs the first week and then was done! I know everyone says be patient it will happen, dont let it get to you. But its the hardest thing especially when your newly post op. It does make you have regrets. I just hope to see some kind of change soon!!! 1 aggi reacted to this
Abigal 13 Posted November 29, 2013 I need to heed my own advice and get off the scale. I know I'm eating less and getting more exercise. Have to trust the process.
Branmuffin 190 Posted November 29, 2013 I lost 20 in my first two weeks post op but haven't lost but .4 since then. Guessing this is my stall. Glad that there are other posts on here to be encouraged by. Is there a typical time frame as to how long these stalls last?

So not sure theres a specific amount of time. Just depends on each person!
mikkidew 0 Posted November 30, 2013 Stay off the scale. Don't weigh everyday. Increase your Protein and stay hydrated. I am 8 weeks post op and have lost 43 pounds. Desperate to see it go but remember it will come off in time. I have to stay patient and focused or else i can start to get depressed. I have noticed the inches go before it shows up on the scale. Best of luck to everyone.
Seela 1,187 Posted November 30, 2013 As far as on or off the scale I think it's individual preferences. I personally am on the scale daily. I lost a bunch the first week and a half after surgery then nothing for what seemed like weeks. In actuality I would go a week or so with nothing then drop a few pounds. That seems to be my pattern. I thought I was losing hardly anything but when I sat down and did the math it averaged out to almost 3 lbs per week. It just all seems to come at once with semi long periods in between. Slower is healthier and with the calorie restrictions loss is a mathematical certainty. Check out some of the threads for individual months. Like July sleevers or October sleevers, and pay attention to the weight loss of some of them. You'll find most of us are in the same boat
HypnotizingHazel 39 Posted November 30, 2013 There really seems to be no set number of days a stall will last. I've noticed I lose at least 5 pounds the week after my period. Sometimes I've eaten something BAD and I'll lose 5! Just be patient! If you are sticking to high Protein, low carb, lots of Water, you should do well!!! Make sure you're tracking with something like myfitnesspal and track your weight with something like the my weight app. A great app to hold you accountable for exercise is gympact. If you don't want to involve money, you can use runkeeper or map my walk. Good luck and I hope this was helpful!
