FitnFabfor2014 358 Posted December 13, 2013 Hi Everyone! I was originally hoping for December, but that didn't happen. I was just approved today and I'm scheduled for January 7th! Recycled 2,182 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) My approval process became so long, I was resigned to assuming I would be denied and started thinking about how I would have to yet again try to lose the weight on my own. Very depressing. Then I got denied. The coordinator was more positive than me at that point and resubmitted the paperwork. 4 days later I was in fact approved. I am now scheduled for Jan 9, 2014. Still absorbing that this is actually going to happen. Trying to lose weight has consumed such a huge part of my adult life and always with the same outcome which constantly left me totally defeated. I'm still trying to grasp that it will work this time. I have jeans in my closet vacuum sealed that are brand new and yet over 30 years old. I have kept them all these years with the forever hope I would fit in them again some day. It's just amazing how fast the time has gone by. (why did I wait sooo long?) This is it people. This is the last chance. No matter how much or how little help the surgery provides, this is the final draw. I will not let this opportunity go unrealized. See you all in onederland. fros1y 3 Posted December 17, 2013 Very excited as well. I start a 2 week pre-op diet the Friday after Christmas. Then surgery on January 10. I keep reading these stories of people who lose truly inspiring amounts of weight in just the first few months. I have a son on the way in March (my first!), so I'm excited that he'll know his father as someone "normal" sized and healthier. 3 Pladd04, Knip_toh and mgoldman11 reacted to this

Pladd04 3 Posted December 18, 2013 So excited!! My Sleeve surgery date is Jan. 10th with Dr. Noria in Columbus, OH. I lived there and went through the OSU Bariatric program but now live in AZ. I see a lot of people flying before and after surgery and wonder what your surgeons had to say about it. Mine wants me to wait like 3 weeks before I fly home, which I'm worried about. I'll be staying with in-laws and really don't want to stay that long. 1 mgoldman11 reacted to this
canadian raindrop 3 Posted December 18, 2013 I'm flying to Tijauana from Alberta Canada on January 16, surgery on the 17 and then fly home on the 21. I think that's why my surgeon asks you to wear compression stockings. Hope that helped a bit
hayesa727 4 Posted December 18, 2013 I do not have my official date until the 24th but I believe I will be scheduled the first week of January. I am excited, nervous, and everything in between. I have the support of my mother who 2 years ago had the lap band, but no one else knows in my family. I wasn't planning on telling them until 2 days before my surgery. My family gave my mom such a hard time when she decided to embark on her journey, I decided it was best for my mental health to keep this to myself. In any case I am extremely excited to start on this journey. Good luck to everyone.
